Screenprinting Taster

New to our programme, this is a fun way to start your screenprinting journey - using a variety of easy, accessible monoprint tecniques on open mesh, you will print unique one off screenprints full of colour and imagination. A fun taster that will leave you wanting to explore this very popular technique further! 

Course Structure

• Introduction to LPW 

• Health and safety tour

• Demonstration of monoscreen techniques
• Painting onto the screen
• Use of crayons and watercolours
• Making newsprint stencils
• Mixing inks and screen set up
• Printing
• Clean up and evaluation

About the Tutor

Leicester based artist Katy Goodrich has been a part of the workshop for the last 10 years. Starting as a volunteer she then undertook a 5 year apprenticeship at LPW learning all aspects of print. Specialising in Screenprint Katy uses Underwater photographs to create her work mainly using the CMYK colour separation technique.
