About the Tutor

Sarah Kirby was first introduced to Printmaking while on a foundation at Cambridge School of Art. Sarah followed her passion and graduated from Farnham in 1987 having studied Fine Art and an MA in Museum and Gallery Studies. Later completing an MA in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University.

In 1993 Sarah moved to Leicester where she now lives and works as an artist and printmaker; she has a beautiful plant filled back yard, an allotment and two ginger cats.

Significant places, gardens, plants and buildings form the inspiration for Sarah's work. She has been part of Leicester Print Workshop since moving to Leicester, teaching occasional courses in Printmaking and Bookbinding.

In recent years Sarah has completed both private and commissioned work, held artist residency at Rugby Museum and illustrated a poetry collection entitled ’40 Lies’ by poet John Gallas which was first published by Carcanet.
