Spend time with Peter Clayton looking at artists throughout history and the ways they have demonstrated the elements that make their work expressive - colour, contrast, composition and material. Learn to analyse others' work and critique your own practice. Two demonstrations to show how to make a picture look quiet or dramatic.
Part one: 10am – 11.30am. Two demonstrations using paint/print techniques to demonstrate calmness and drama by means of colour, tone and shape using paint/printing techniques.
Part two: A slide show and talk of various artists’ work from the past and present to explain different ways to express ideas/moods visually. From Titian to Tomma Abst, Morandi to Agnes Martin and Rubens to Ravilious.
About the Tutor
Peter Clayton has a Fine Art degree and PGCE in Art Education. He has shown in over 160 solo and group exhibitions and has over 30 years experience as an Adult Education tutor at many centres of learning in Leicester.
He has collaborated with interior designers, publishers, university departments, museums and art galleries and has worked on commissions ranging from murals to book jackets. Peter works in a wide variety of media. His principle print media are linocut and silkscreen.
